AmWins-owned broking house THB has plucked Matthew Gould from rival Ed as it builds out its aviation team.
Gould takes on the role of senior broker in THB’s aviation team and will report to Tom Thompson, THB’s director of aviation.
He spent the best part of a decade at Ed – formerly Cooper Gay – on the aviation team.
He began his career as a claims handler at Aviva in 2005.
“As well as Matt’s technical knowledge, which is so important in this sector, he also has a well-rounded understanding of the various sub-classes, with particular experience in general aviation and aerospace risks,” Thompson said.
“With his expertise in both direct and facultative placement as well as claims handling, Matt’s experience will contribute significantly to our wide-ranging aviation portfolio,” he went on.
Gould said: “I’m looking forward to working with our retail brokers both domestically and internationally.”
“THB has such a strong reputation and it’s great to be joining the business as the company both celebrates 50 years of broking and makes bold plans for the next 50 years.”
