Axis has appointed Linda Ventresca to the newly-created position of chief strategy officer.
In the new job, she will report directly to president and CEO Albert Benchimol and lead the carrier’s enterprise-wide transformation program.
The executive moves into the role from chief transformation officer at the Bermudian (re)insurer, a position that she has held since the beginning of the year.
Ventresca has been with Axis since 2003, holding a number of roles across the company.
Before moving into the CTO position in Janaury, she was head of corporate development and head of investor relations.
“Linda is a respected leader, trusted advisor and the perfect person to serve as our first chief strategy officer,” Benchimol said.
“She’s been with Axis since nearly the beginning and has an expansive understanding of our business and the forces that our transforming the insurance industry,” he went on.
“In addition to working with me to help shape our corporate strategy, Linda will serve as a partner to our insurance and reinsurance businesses and will help ensure there is direct alignment between our corporate strategies and the individual strategies that are being driven within our segments.”
