XL Catlin has appointed Brent Hoffman as its new global head of claims.
Hoffman has been promoted from the position of general counsel of global claims, having moved to the carrier to take up this role from The Hartford in 2014.
He previously spent 12 years at The Hartford in a number of roles, latterly in the position of vice president of the firm’s claims department.
The appointment follows Anthony Vidovich’s move from XL Catlin to AIG in April, with Vidovich having headed up XL Catlin’s claims team since 2015.
In his new role Hoffman will report to Paul Jardine, XL Catlin’s chief experience officer.
“Brent’s promotion is testament to the bench strength we have in our claims team,” president of P&C insurance and reinsurance at XL Catlin, Greg Hendrick, said.
“His experience and knowledge ideally position him to lead our claims function of more than 700 colleagues based in 24 countries worldwide,” Hendrick added.
